Wedding at Blackstone Country Club
Wow! This venue was absolutely incredible!
To be honest when I first booked this wedding I had no reason to think that it would be any different than the other country club/golf course venues I’ve shot at, but Blackstone is definitely on a level of its own. From my first steps walking into the club I immediately knew we were going to capture some beautiful visuals of not only our couple, but this incredible venue that they had booked.
Nestled in the mountains the Hacienda-styled, 30,000-square-foot Blackstone Country Club clubhouse blends natural materials and historic architecture of the southwest with contemporary design elements of exposed wood beams, brick, stone and stucco creating a natural, Old World atmosphere with casual elegance.
What I loved about this venue…
Something that I really appreciated about Blackstone Country Club was the fact that there were not club members walking throughout the property where the wedding was taking place. There is nothing more distracting than when I’m shooting a ceremony and a golf cart goes flying by behind the couple in the middle of their vows. In contrast, the only time we ran into club members was when we went off to find more intimate scenes for Mackenzie and Cory’s portrait session.
Different locations for each moment.
The ceremony took place out on the expansive lawn with breathtaking views in the background. It had such an elegant vibe and almost felt like the type of setting where someone from the Royal family might get married. Cocktail hour was served just above the lawn on a patio with cozy yet stylish couches, fireplaces, and even more beautiful views. My favorite location was the courtyard where the reception took place. It featured immaculate table settings and was lit by outdoor string lights, giving the setting a homey feel. The couple had their table in front of another commanding built-in fireplace. The entire venue oozed intimacy and southwestern elegance.
Amenities
Another thing that I really appreciate as a wedding videographer are bridal suites that are not locker rooms! I don’t care how great of a videographer you hire, its next to impossible to create stunning imagery in a locker room without natural light (believe me I’ve tried). Blackstone Country Club goes the extra mile for their wedding clients and provides the Groom and Bride with their own spacious suites with a ton of natural light helping them look their best!
The food was a step above the rest too. At this particular wedding we were served a buffet style meal that was actually delicious. They also had late night snacks which every guest that had been dancing for hours surely enjoyed. The creative seating chart was a captivating tiered champagne display where guests would take a glass to discover their assigned seat. All of the signage throughout the venue featured exquisite fonts which just displays how much thought and attention to detail is put into ensuring every couple has the best wedding.
Conclusion
Overall I was blown away by the immaculate touches throughout the entire venue: from the natural elements being highlighted to perfection, to the creature comforts in the suites, to the care given to the privacy and experience of each and every person in attendance. You can tell that Blackstone Country Club takes a lot of pride in making sure their guests have the best possible wedding experience.
